Collection: Camécuaro, Mexico
The beautiful beadwork displayed in this collection is a part of the gorgeous art known as Huichol, which is the name of the indigenous tribe who makes it. Camécuaro is a stunning yet small lake located 20 minutes outside of Zamora, Michoacán, Mexico. It's characteristic trees make you feel like you're in a dream. Peaceful gondolas and ducks drift by as you listen to live mariachis surrounding the lake and smell the simply spectacular food offered. Each stand is owned and operated by a different local family, and has been for generations. Frequent visitors know the vendors by nicknames such as "el nariz", or "the nose", can tell you who has the best of which item, and who has the coldest beer. The lake is also surrounded by art vendors of all types of things, including the beadwork you see in this collection.
