The items in this collection all came from the same trip to Querétaro, Mexico. Their style is characteristic of that state. Querétaro is known to have beautiful ruby red opals that mystify you with their natural beauty. The beadwork is done by hand by a community of women in the town of Bernal, where they teach younger generations how to continue their traditions and art. In Bernal you can find amazing food, beautiful music, happy people and gorgeous art wherever you look. And if you love hiking (I do), you can take the path to the top of the monolith or, "peña". At the summit there is a chapel with a view of the stunning mountain range surrounding it. If you prefer some great shopping and a larger city feel, the city of Querétaro is a blend of old and new, with modern architectural marvels mixed with ancient colonial time buildings made of stone or adobe. It's stone streets, arches and flowers everywhere will enchant you. Not to mention the unforgettable food.
